CAPTAIN GERASIMOS ANDRIANOTOS
Captain Gerasimos Andrianotos, the man at the helm of Mercury, began his sea-going career almost 30 years ago.
He joined Chandris, later to become Celebrity Cruises in 1990, in 1968 after graduating from the Merchant Marine Academy.
As Master of Mercury, Captain Andrianotos overseas every operation of the vessel, in addition to acting to ensure the safety of all guests.
His Celebrity line-up of commands include Century, Horizon and Zenith. And he was also the first to command Meridian, Celebrity's first ship, when she left the shipyard in 1990.
Captain Andrianotos comes from a long tradition of saefarers. When he's not commanding one of the Celebrity ships, he lives in Athens with his wife and two children.
