CELEBRITY SOLSTICE
Heading for the High Seas: A brand new class of cruising
Celebrity Solstice, the largest ship ever to be built by the German shipyard, Meyer Werft, set sail on her maiden season on November 23, 2008, to kick-off a series of alternating seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruises roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, calling at San Juan, St Maarten, St Kitts and Tortola during the autumn and winter.
The 2,850-guest Celebrity Solstice will then presented a series of romantic 10 and 11-night Mediterranean cruises from Rome in Spring 2009.
Among the variety of features guests find only on Celebrity Solstice are:
- The industry's first Lawn Club, a half-acre recreation area with real, growing grass.
- The industry's first Hot Glass Show, with live glassblowing demonstrations presented in association with The Corning Museum of Glass.
- Larger staterooms, with design inspirations offered by a panel of five women, hand-picked for their unique travel and hospitality insights.
- Ten varied restaurants, ranging from the dramatic, two-level "Grand Epernay" main dining room with a sweeping wine tower, to four exquisite specialty restaurants, to several stylish, casual venues.
- An entirely new category of accommodations, "AquaClass", designed to offer a spa holiday experience at sea rivalling the best of those on land.
- A state-of-the-art theatre and stage design, with three new leading-edge shows custom-designed for Celebrity Cruises with Poet
Theatricals, in their first cruise line partnership.
They also experience unrivalled dining venues offering trendsetting cuisine and design, and widely varied entertainment, including new theatre productions in partnership with Poet Theatricals.
The vessel also has staterooms 15 per cent larger than those on previous Celebrity ships, 90 per cent of which are outside, and 85 per cent of all staterooms have verandas.
