New ship brings more comfort to the Newcastle-Bergen route
December 2, 2005 - Fjord Line has introduced MS Fjord Norway into service on the Newcastle Ð Bergen route, replacing MS Jupiter which has been sold.
Fjord Norway is significantly larger than Jupiter (31,356 tonnes compared with 20,400 tonnes) with a car deck some 60 per cent bigger, providing far greater capacity across the North Sea during the peak summer season.
She was completely refurbished just two years ago, so she has a high standard of onboard comfort with more spacious public areas and larger cabins than Jupiter.
Says Marketing Director Mike Wood: "We are delighted to introduce this beautiful ship on to our route. We will be able to provide our guests with an even higher level of service through the excellent facilities she has on board."
MS Fjord Norway will sail twice weekly from Newcastle to Bergen during the summer months and once a week during the winter period. She was previously on the Bergen Ð Hantsholm route and will continue to serve this route between Norway and Denmark once a week throughout the year.
