The route taken by Black Watch is westerly and highlights include Portugal, Canary Islands, Caribbean, transiting the Panama Canal, Lima in Peru, Easter Island, Pitcairn, Tahiti, Raratonga, New Zealand (North and South Islands), Australia (Sydney, Brisbane & Cairns), Papua New Guinea, Karimunjawa Island, Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Jordan, transiting the Suez Canal, Malta and Spain.

A number of these ports are new to Fred Olsen, including Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, Karimunjawa Island and the South Island of New Zealand.
