MSC ARMONIAMSC Cruises

Expansion with vision ...

MSC confirmed its acquisition of Festival's European Vision in April, 2004, which was renamed MSC Armonia.

The new addition was totally re-styled in the MSC fashion before emerging as MSC Armonia to start a series of seven-night cruises out of Venice.

Said Peter Pate, director for the UK and Ireland: "The message is simple. MSC is getting bigger. We continue to expand and diversify in response to our growing market, confirming our position as major player in world cruising."

The news came hot on the heels of MSC's March announcement that it had commissioned the building of two brand new ships with an option on a third, taking the MSC fleet to eight ships in total by 2007.

Domenico Pellegrino, Managing Director of Mediterranean Shipping Cruises, said: "The arrival of MSC Armonia will undoubtedly attract even more cruisers who wish to experience a truly Italian-style voyage. Our on-board philosophy, from the impeccable yet friendly service to the quintessentially Italian interior design to the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere is totally unique and is a reflection of our heritage. MSC offers the best Italian hospitality afloat and the acquisition of MSC Armonia consolidates our position as a growing force in the world cruise market."
