- When Oriana was launched in 1995 she was the fastest liner built for 25 years with a cruising speed of 24 knots.
- She uses 88.9 gallons of fuel per mile - or travels 55.92ft per gallon - compared to the original Oriana which used 167.9 gallons per mile (36.2ft per gallon).
- Two water evaporators convert four million gallons of sea water into 264,000 gallons of drinking water ... every day.
- The hull is protected by an electronic force field to prevent corrosion.
- 2.5 acres of outdoor deck area make it the most spacious of any cruise ship afloat.

86,546 pieces of Wedgwood china were made for Oriana at Barlaston in Staffordshire. 47,840 square yards of carpet - longer than the London marathon - were supplied by Brintons of Kidderminster.

The Anderson bar is named after Arthur Anderson, one of the founders of Peninsular Steam in 1837.
- Oriana was the name chosen by the 16th Century courtiers to honour Queen Elizabeth I. Queen Elizabeth II christened the new Oriana in April at a ceremony in Southampton.
