Hungry holidaymakers seeking a taste of the exotic need look no further that P&O Cruises' Oriental and Asian fusion restaurant on its newest superliner, Arcadia.
The Orchid Restaurant features a contemporary blend of Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine.
Passengers can choose from an exotic a la carte menu with appropriate cold Oriental and Asian beers from the adjoining Orchid Bar.
P&O's links with Indian cuisine date back to the 1800s when Indian employees are said to have introduced the first curry to Britain.
Says Neal Martin, director of hotel services: "P&O Cruises has always celebrated its historical links with the East, and The Orchid Restaurant brings that association bang up to date. We already celebrate our ties with India on regular Indian nights and now The Orchid Restaurant offers holidaymakers the chance to experience other increasingly popular forms of Oriental and Asian cuisine."
Situated on the 11th deck, the restaurant offers panoramic views of the horizon. It is one of six dining alternatives in total, including a main formal restaurant, 24-hour buffet, open deck grill, cafe and a fine dining restaurant, the Arcadian Rhodes, masterminded by celebrity chef Gary Rhodes.
