New Horizons gives holidaymakers the chance to discover new interests through daytime activity classes on topics as varied as cuisine, gardening, psychology and mind, reflexology, wine tasting, Feng Shui, interior design and conversational languages.
Developed especially for new ships Arcadia and Artemis, New Horizons provides a varied combination of workshops, classes and talks, the programme offers the chance to learn from leading experts including the chairman of the Feng Shui Society Raymond Catchpole; Masters of Wine John Downes and Joanna Hall, inventor of the "Carb Curfew" diet.
The Berlitz Language School will be providing classes in French, Spanish and Italian.
Topics have been carefully selected to suit the profile of each ship and its passengers. In keeping with Arcadia's modern approach to cruising, her passengers will have a choice of subjects with a 'Sunday supplement' feel, including well being, colour analysis and cuisine.
Artemis will offer a more traditional cruise experience with New Horizons topics including music and literature, British Heritage and arts and crafts.
Says P&O spokesman Philip Price:
"New Horizons is all about giving holidaymakers the opportunity to learn something completely new which will enrich their lives as well as their cruise holiday. Arcadia and Artemis will also provide holidaymakers with ever-changing views of the world's most fascinating destinations, broadening passengers' horizons in every sense of the word."
The new Arcadia has dedicated rooms for the programme, entitled The Horizon Suite, featuring the Ocean, Sea and Bay rooms. All will offer first class facilities ranging from state of the art computing and communications technology to leading edge audio-visual equipment.
