WINTER 2007 - 08SeaDream Yacht Club

Goodbye South America,
hello Seadream's Caribbean

January 26, 2007 - SeaDream Yacht Club will not be returning to South America in the Winter season of 2007-2008.

Instead it be sailing a dynamic series of five and nine-night sailings in the West Indies called "SeaDream's Caribbean".

The redeployment will not affect the 2007 Spring South America programme on sister vessel SeaDream I, nor does it affect published schedules for the winter season 2007-2008 and beyond.

The award-winning operator said a multitude of unexpected operational challenges encountered during its inaugural season in South America prompted the decision not to return.

Says senior director Ian Buckeridge: "Exceeding our guest expectations is what SeaDream has become renowned for. Factors we have encountered such as Brazil's well publicised overt crime problems has meant we have been unable to deliver the product and service to the standard we require of ourselves and that our guests expect of us."

In announcing the decision to discontinue wintering in South America, Buckeridge also announced a fresh new approach to SeaDream II's winter 2007-2008 schedule, by introducing SeaDream's Caribbean based around largely smaller, less familiar yachting-style ports.

The 55-stateroom SeaDream II will use St Thomas and San Juan as her gateway ports with her new itineraries including Gustavia, St Barts; Peter Island BVI; Spanish Town and North Sound, Virgin Gorda; Culebrita and Esperanza, Vieques, Puerto Rico; Anegada, BVI; Saba, Netherlands Antilles; Anguilla, BWI; and Jost van Dyke, BVI.

Buckeridge adds: "The 2007-2008 SeaDream's Caribbean programme on SeaDream II features five night and nine night sailings; the five-nighters will operate from Sunday to Friday - ideal for private charters, weddings and corporate incentives. Her nine-nighters allow SeaDream to offer new and past guests the chance to sail for longer - something many SeaDream regulars have asked for."

Guests currently booked on affected voyages will be provided the opportunity to re-book on Caribbean or Mediterranean voyages of their choice. Should they prefer to cancel with a full refund that too will be possible.
