Stena Line's passenger and freight superferry Stena Britannica joined the key Harwich - Hook of Holland route in March, 2003.
Fully refurbished in 2007 to offer better facilities and a greater capacity, the Stena Britannica is 240 metres long and has a capacity of 300 cars and a total of 900 passengers.
The ship began operations from Harwich International Port on the Harwich - Hook of Holland route, boosting freight capacity by 20 per cent and passenger capacity by 50 per cent on peak sailings from Hook of Holland.
Stena Britannica features 3,400 lane metres of freight capacity and a drive-through concept to allow fast loading and discharging. She also offers excellent passenger facilities including a full range of onboard services. Customers can visit the buffet restaurant or relax in the cinema, enjoy the wide range of retail outlets or visit the casino.
The arrival of Stena Britannica heralded a new start for Stena Line who later in the same year launched a second new vessel, the Stena Adventurer, on the Irish Sear.
