Freezing fares from Stena

Stena Line has frozen its fares, allowing customers to book travel for 2007 at 2006 prices.

The offer is part of a new pricing strategy that will allow travellers to book and alter their travel arrangements to suit themselves.

Stena has taken the unprecedented step of making 2007 bookings available early so that customers can plan ahead and take advantage of fares as low as £50 single for a car and driver as part of its new pricing strategy, which rewards early bookers.

Says Paul Grant, head of travel market Irish Sea: "This unbelievable offer is part of a new simplified booking system that we are bringing in to ensure that customers can tailor their booking and travel arrangements to suit themselves. While this initial offer is available immediately, our new system will be fully operational from November and will give those travelling with us the choice of three different types of tickets.

"Our Economy Fares will be perfect for those who are absolutely certain of their dates of travel and can book well in advance, with a Flexi Fare for just an additional £10 single offering the opportunity to change your booking details or even cancel your ticket without having to pay a penalty- something that is almost unheard of in the industry. For only £10 more than the Flexi Fare, our Premium Fare will also offer the benefits of flexible booking as well as express boarding and disembarkation and access to our luxurious Stena Plus lounge."
