WIND SURF

Business center is a big hit

A high-tech business centre, featuring a computer centre and meeting room facilities, is among the new features aboard Windstar Cruises' masted-sail yacht Wind Surf.

Catering for a growing number of business-related bookings (conferences, meetings and incentive groups), the business centre is located on Bridge Deck mid-ship, with a partition wall dividing the space between the computer centre and meeting room as dictated by guest needs.

Capacity varies from 38 to 60 people depending on the configuration of the rooms. The computer centre features 10 computer terminals and Internet access, while the meeting room can be utilised for presentations with audio/visual capabilities in a theatre, classroom or work-group style.

The introduction of the business centre is part of an extensive re-modelling of Wind Surf, undertaken by the design firm P. Yran and B. Storbraaten of Oslo and Miami, renowned as the premier architects in the luxury ship market.

Fewer passengers, gangway improved

Passenger capacity of the Wind Surf has been reduced to 308 from 312 with the installation of a new gangway which replaces two staterooms on Deck Two. The new, shorter gangway greatly improves the embarkation and disembarkation processes.

Lounge and casino completely re-modelled

A new, innovative design of Wind Surfâs lounge and casino has created a more comfortable and social gathering place, sporting a completely new floor plan, nautical design and improved lighting. The casino will offer more game tables and slot machines.
With the relocation of the stage and dance floor, there is now a clear line of sight to the stage from every seat in the lounge and casino, while the new floor plan enhances the flow of guests and enables staff to provide upgraded service for smaller, more intimate groupings.

An enhanced dining experience

The culinary experience aboard Wind Surf has been enhanced with redesigned rooms and increased capacity in each of the shipâs three dining venues: The Bistro, Veranda and Restaurant.
Removal of a banquet line and table reconfiguration has increased capacity in The Bistro from 88 to 106, while redesigned lighting complements the focus on intimate dining and conversation.
The Restaurant on Main Deck will see improved table configurations in the near future, including a larger number of tables for two. Inside seating capacity in the Verandah increases to 72, while a permanent outdoor barbecue station has also been installed on Star Deck.
