Go Wild with ORCA and DFDS Seaways
February 4, 2010 - DFDS Seaways is taking to the water again with whale and dolphin charity ORCA to spot the exciting inhabitants of the North Sea.
All passengers on King of Scandinavia, travelling every other day between Newcastle and Amsterdam from April to September, will be able to enjoy a wildlife watching experience led by an expert ORCA Wildlife Officer.
The Wildlife Officer will give lively presentations, organise deck watches and point out any animals and sea-birds found in the North Sea, as well as running children's activities.

2009 - a Ferry Good Year for DFDS Seaways
January 13, 2010 - As DFDS Seaways gets ready to mark the 15th anniversary of its Newcastle to Amsterdam route, the leading cruise ferry operator is also celebrating the culmination of the route's most successful year on record for passengers travelling.
DFDS Seaways launched the daily service between Newcastle and IJmuiden, the port outside Amsterdam, on May 18, 1995, and the service has provided a vital link between the North East and Northern Europe ever since.
Despite the UK travel industry experiencing a turbulent past 12 months DFDS Seaways has bucked the trend with an increase in passenger numbers of ten per cent, with 531,000 travelling on the route in 2009.

DFDS Seaways scoops travel Oscar again
October 26, 2009 - DFDS Seaways has captured the Oscar of the travel industry for the third successive year. At the recent World Travel Award ceremony in Portugal, it was voted Europe's Leading Long Sea Ferry Operator 2009, the highest accolade within the travel industry.
The awards ceremony celebrates success in the travel industry with awards that are voted for by over 170,000 travel industry professionals.
DFDS Seaways head of sales Andrew Crowe Said: "This really demonstrates that DFDS Seaways is recognised by the industry to be excelling in the service that we offer our customers, both in terms of the range of products we offer as well as the onboard experience on our cruise ferries." John Crummie, UK managing director, added: "We are leading the way within the industry for quality ferry operations."
