All New 2004 for Pacific Sky
August 17, 2003 - New ports, the first-ever sailings from Brisbane, weekend cruises and new onboard features will make 2004 the biggest year yet for P&O Cruises Australia's Pacific Sky.
The programme reveals a greater variety of itineraries and four new ports - coral atoll of Wala in Vanuatu, Poum in New Caledonia, Luganville, the Vanuatu setting of the hit musical and film South Pacific, and Pentecost Island, birthplace of bungy jumping.
2004 will also see P&O Cruises base a cruise ship in Brisbane for the first time to cater for the cruise boom generated by Queenslanders and residents of the rapidly growing regions of northern NSW.
A Christmas present at sea
August 12, 2003 - P&O Cruises Australia is calling on the expanding ranks of workaholics to take a break this Christmas on Pacific Princess.
Presenteeism - as opposed to absenteeism - is the term workplace productivity experts have coined for 'go-go' workers who thrive on stress and long hours, don't take annual leave and come to work sick.
Recognising that something will eventually give, P&O Cruises is suggesting that presentees take to the seas this Christmas for a stress-free, live-it-up holiday aboard the stylish boutique cruise ship.
The 10-night Christmas Cheer voyage to Vanuatu and New Caledonia sails from Sydney on December 18. Christmas Day will be spent sailing through the spectacular Havannah-Boulari Passage and Woodin Canal.
Sun to shine in Australia
September 2, 2003 - P&O Cruises Australia has named its second vessel Pacific Sun.
The 1,900-passenger ship, currently sailing in the Caribbean as Carival's Jubilee, will be based permanently in Australia next year, making her the largest cruise-ship ever to be based year-round there.
She will undergo a multi-million dollar refit before repositioning to Australia where she will offer South Pacific cruises from Sydney and Brisbane.
