Cruise numbers break all records
June 4, 2008 - The number of Britons now cruising continues to break all records, according to new figures puiblished by the Passenger Shipping Association.
The PSA's Annual Cruise Report, unveiled last night, shows that 1.33 million British people cruised in 2007, with the number predicted to increase to two million by 2012.
William Gibbons, director of the PSA which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, said: "There has been a sustained boom in cruising for the past decade, with the number of Brits taking a cruise holiday more then doubling. We expect to see that growth increase even further and predict that cruise holidays will grow from 1.33 million British cruise passengers in 2007, to 1.5 million this year.

Ventura to host 50th PSA dinner
January 14, 2008 - The Passenger Shipping Association is to mark its 50th year in 2008 by holding its annual dinner on board P&O Cruises'new mega ship Ventura.
Director Bill Gibbons said the dinner on April 14 in Southampton would be one of a number of events planned to mark the organisation's 50th anniversary.
UK cruisers set to top 1.5m
November 28, 2007 - The number of Brits taking a cruise is set to bust the 1.5 million barrier in 2008.
The Passengter Shipping Association is predicting a 14 per cent rise to 1.55 million, which follows this year's pretty hefty 11 per cent rise to 1.35 million, which was higher than expected.

More and more Brits are going cruise barmy
May 14, 2007 - More Brits than ever are taking to the seas, it is
revealed today.
According to the Passenger Shipping Association, 1.2 million Britons took
an ocean cruise in 2006 - 12 per cent more than the 1.07 million in 2005
and double the number who took a cruise a decade ago.
The UK cruise market showed the biggest growth rate of all European source
market countries, and, with the British taking longer cruises than in 2005,
there was an impressive 19 per cent increase in the overall number of
cruise nights booked.
