FAMILY CRUISING: Who goes where

Celebrity Cruises:Launched in 1990, Celebrity Cruises is a five star, luxury cruise line offering an elegant and sophisticated holiday experience with an emphasis on high standards of service and excellent cruising.
Crystal Cruises: Children are welcome aboard both six-rated ships Crystal Harmony and Crystal Symphony. Suitable facilities include: a selections of three-berth staterooms; Waves and Fantasia rooms dedicated for children's entertainment with toys and video games; a choice of indoor and outdoor pools; table tennis and informal dining areas - burger and ice cream bars. If more than 15 children are travelling, special programmes are created with staff supervision, who can also provide a baby-sitting service by special arrangement.
Cunard: One of the oldest and most famous names in cruising. Itineraries range from two-day Party Cruises to three-month World Cruises.
Disney Cruises: Perfect for families, kids and adults alike, the Disney Cruise Line brings a huge selection of facilities and entertainment's never previously available on a cruise ship. Guests combine a stay at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, with a visit to Disney's exclusive Caribbean island: Castaway Cay.
Fred Olsen Cruise Lines: welcomes families on board its two ships Black Watch and Black Prince during the popular holiday times - Easter, summer and Christmas. Experienced children's hosts arrange plenty of activities and entertainment and both ships have a children's play room. Excellent discounts are available year round for children up to 16 years when sharing a cabin with two full paying adults.
Holland America Line offers five-star cruising, gracious living and stylish comfort aboard its fleet of award winning ships, adorned with priceless antiques. Holland America's motto is a "Tradition of Excellence" stretching back over 125 years.
Louis Cruises provides a range of two, three and seven day cruises from Cyprus. The company aims to give holidaymakers an informal taste of cruising aboard its medium sized ships. Itineraries include Israel, Egypt and the Greek islands.
Mediterranean Shipping Cruises is Italy's largest privately owned cruise line operates four traditional cruiseliners. Melody offers special facilities for children. There is a special children's area with paddling pool. During the school holidays there are special staff onboard purely to look after young children, arrange entertainment etc. Parents can leave the children with staff, knowing that these children will be under supervision at all times and entertained.
Norwegian Cruise Line was founded in 1966 and helped to pioneer one-class, Caribbean fly-cruising. It operates a 4-star fleet with an informal atmosphere and a strong emphasis on activities and entertainment.
P&O Cruises: With up to eight sailings a month from Britain and cruises ranging from four days to over three weeks, P&O offers a vast array of itineraries encompassing the Mediterranean, Baltic, Atlantic Islands, Canary Islands and Norwegian Fjords. Princess Cruises: To make cruising as a family easier than ever, children can now travel aboard all Princess ships in the Caribbean and Alaska from the age of six months, with youngsters over 12 months old being welcomed on cruises in Europe and 18 month olds on voyages to more exotic destinations. All Princess ships can cater for junior cruisers, while the three newest Grand Class superliners offer the most fully equipped children's facilities.
Radisson Seven Seas Cruises: The small, six-rated ships of the Radisson fleet - the yacht-like Song of Flower, the 320-passenger Radisson Diamond and new Paul Gaugin - do not make any particular provision for children on board. However, they are welcome to join their parents on these sophisticated and port-intensive cruise experiences.
The Royal Caribbean International operate four kids clubs on board its fleet under the umbrella name of Adventure Ocean. Each club is specially formulated for each different age group with activities arranged accordingly. The six Vision-class ships each have two specially designed club rooms, one for younger children and a teen lounge; area for older kids featuring its own disco and juice bar.
Thomson Cruises has its Thomson T-Clubs onboard Emerald, Island Breeze, and Sapphire. These clubs are free and provide two-three hours of games and activities six days a week for children aged between three-seven years (Little T Club) and eight-12 (Big T Club). Topaz also boasts a dedicated Teen meeting area onboard. Specific activities for teenagers are held during the peak summer period (min numbers permitting) on all Thomson ships.
